Vietnam and Canada have officially upgraded their bilateral relationship to a Strategic Partnership, opening a new chapter for broader and deeper cooperation across multiple sectors.
The two countries identified eight key areas of cooperation, including trade and investment, transportation and supply chains, technology and innovation, energy and the environment, agriculture and food, security, and education and people-to-people exchanges.
Both sides recognized the strong growth of bilateral trade and the significant potential for further expansion in investment, business partnerships, and economic cooperation.
Vietnam and Canada also agreed to work together to reduce market-access barriers, strengthen transportation and logistics connectivity, and improve supply chain resilience, creating more favorable conditions for bilateral trade and business.

The two countries plan to expand cooperation in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced technologies, cybersecurity, and data governance.
They also intend to promote research collaboration, talent mobility, and the development of innovation ecosystems, creating new opportunities for businesses, researchers, and technology-driven industries in both markets.
Energy security, environmental protection, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture are also key areas of cooperation.
Vietnam and Canada emphasized the importance of reliable and affordable energy supplies, resilient infrastructure, and innovation throughout the agricultural and food value chain.
The new Strategic Partnership provides a broader framework for Vietnam and Canada to deepen practical and results-oriented cooperation.
For businesses, the stronger relationship creates additional opportunities to expand trade, investment, logistics, supply chain connectivity, technology partnerships, and innovation between the two markets.
As bilateral ties continue to evolve, stronger connections between businesses and supply chains can help create new opportunities for companies seeking to enter, expand, or diversify across the Vietnamese and Canadian markets.
